Dear friend, It’s been a minute since I’ve sent emails… hope you’re doing well. Yesterday I introduced this image: Today… we’re going a level deeper. Before you can change your Actions… you need to examine your Beliefs and your Identity. Here’s an example Identity Ladder for someone who identifies as an employee:
The belief “I am someone who keeps a job” drags you to work every morning. Even when you don’t want to go. Because it’s part of WHO YOU ARE. (Your identity.) Next… Let’s look at the differences between a fit person and a fat person. Fit Person: Fat Person: Duke University claims that 95% of your daily behavior is unconscious. Meaning… You don’t ‘decide’ to put your left shoe on first... and you don’t think about how to tie your shoes… These are mini-programs that run in your subconscious mind. Like code on a computer. And your current software = your current reality. The good news? You can rewrite the software! You can reframe beliefs like “I’m not a morning person.” to “I am someone who starts the day with energy.” You can rewrite your Beliefs and make changes to your Identity. Powerful stuff huh?
